Then I'm sure you've noticed by now that we don't!

By the way, which region of France are you living in?

thank god, varied but never boring are the topics discussed here. I have been a member for a few years, like to look in frequently and post occasionally. I've never felt less than accepted

So are you Bretonnaise? (did I spell that right?) I've often thought that I'd like to visit Brittany some day but never got around to it somehow. What do you think of Alain Stivell and Dan ar Bras?

mr Robthewordsmith :Alain Stivell and Dan ar Bras are really good!I have a video of Dan ar Bras in concert (Rennes 1995) . I also have a video called "Lord of the Dance ",live show done in Dublin 1996,total irish gig of Michael Flatley'dancers .I am not "bretonne" but Parisian living in Bretagne since back in France .So, how is the weather in Scotland these days ,and which region you stay in there ?Here ,after a rather so and so august the sunny days are back , and september is probably going to be just fine for campers ;english speaking campers welcome too !

Well I don't know much about the weather in Scotland since I've been living in England for a number of years either in or near London.

One of my greatest musical memories is going to see Alain Stivell in Edinburgh. He just kept on playing until the people running the concert hall said 'ok, that's enough' and cut the sound and put the house lights on. So Alain said, 'ok everybody let's go to the streets' - and we all went out to listen to them play acoustic music outside until the cops (les flics) came along to stop the fun. Happy times.

Having been stationed in Scotland for 3 1/2 years I am at least well informed, if not close to an expert. Here is all you need to know about the weather in Scotland.

Go outside and look at the closest highland hillside.

If you can't see it, it's raining.

If you can see it, it's about to rain.

Pass the haggis Robbie. Crack the Springbank and pour a dram or two.........

Mandojammer : your weather report about Scotland is so funny ! You mean you can't get sunburns even in summertime ,in Scotland and they can keep their peachy skins all their lives ?

We don't sunburn. We rust.

Scottish men might rust but their women mildew and smell like wet sheep.

Q: How does a scotsman dress up for a date?

A: Velcro gloves and Wellington boots.

Let your imagination run wild folks. Yes, it's that bad.

Mandojammer:your joke about Scots is wildly hilarous, but for mister Robtheworldsmith it's outreageous, but then I wonder if you knew any fun joke about Frenchmen of nowadays,as I don't know any ?

Rusting in the rain ,then!Thing to do ,chaps ,is to choose a local micro-climate where it get more sunny !Here Vannes area is one of the best micro-climate in Brittany .when it rains in Quimper or St Malo ,here it is still sunny . AND when they have a killer heatwave in Grenoble or Marseilles ,here it is cool enough all day to do whatever .Right now , clouds are back again , and I won't bet a penny on sptember weather after all . With a freesbie smile to rusty british isles !

Rob,

Excusez moi, freres. I just wanted to say I was relieved not to find a writ for libel on my doormat after my reckless outburst the other day. Mea culpa and I don't know what came over me. Was it a full moon? or maybe it was the beer at lunchtime that caused me to breach forum decorum and accuse you of being w..., g....... and f...., a warranted defamation on your hitherto unblemished character. (Not to mention, damning with faint praise!) (With a bit of luck you didn't even see it...if sooo...you didn't see this either!)

Alain, mon brave! (at which point my Francais ceases lest la belle skies frappe mois autour de l'oreille)

I shall with some magnanimity overlook your dastardly attack on my previously unsullied character, but would warn you that, should you similarly trangress in future, I may well be forced to transport myself Londonwards and force quantities of beer down your miscreant neck.

Hi, dilcurrie ! In 1969, the real bummer was that beyond hearing the calling of the Grateful Dead I never imagined they would eventually come to France .This ignorance had a awfull price to pay ...
